Miembros nuevos

¡Bienvenido! Nos complace prestarle servicios como nuevo miembro de Gold Coast Health Plan (GCHP). You were likely enrolled in our plan because you live in Ventura County and have Medi-Cal. To get the best care, you must use doctors and clinics that are in the GCHP network.

Elija un Proveedor de Atención Primaria (PCP)

You will soon get a welcome packet in the mail. It explains how to use your plan.

One of the first things you must do is choose a Primary Care Provider (PCP). A PCP is the doctor or clinic you see for most of your regular care, like checkups and sick visits.

You will not get a GCHP ID card until you choose a PCP.

How to Choose a PCP

If you're not happy with your PCP, you can change to a new one after one month. Vea cómo cambiar su PCP.

You May Not Need to Choose a PCP

You do not need a PCP if you are an administrative member. This may apply if you:

  • Have Medi-Cal with a share of cost.
  • Vive en un centro de atención a largo plazo.
  • Tiene la cobertura de Medi-Cal proporcionada por el Condado de Ventura pero vive fuera del área.
  • Have other health insurance in addition to Medi-Cal.

Su manual para miembros y tarjeta de identificación

After you choose a PCP, you will get:

  • A Member Handbook
  • A GCHP ID card

Bring your ID card to all doctor visits.

If you need care right away and your ID card has not arrived:

  • Show your welcome letter and your Medi-Cal Benefits Identification Card (BIC).
  • You may see a doctor who accepts Medi-Cal Fee for Service (FFS). Ask the office if they accept FFS.

If you have an emergency:

  • Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
  • Show your Medi-Cal BIC card.

If You Have Other Health Insurance

If you have insurance through work, a parent, a spouse, or Medicare, that insurance is your primary insurance and will pay first. Medi-Cal will be your secondary insurance.

Always bring all your insurance cards to appointments.

Tell Medi-Cal if you have other insurance. This helps avoid problems with care or prescriptions. To update your insurance information, call:
